Every year, in the beginning of the year, with great enthusiasm, Cultural Club, Christ College inaugurates the club activities for the academic year. The club is one of the most vibrant and active clubs on the campus, as a result, the inaugural ceremonies are house full with the audience. The formal function includes prayer dance, lamp lighting, welcome speech and investiture ceremony. The latter half of the function is dedicated to the performances by the students.
Cultural Club celebrates the joy of friendship every year on the campus. The event is the fund raiser activity by the students where they learn managerial and communication skills by booking friendship bands and distributing the bands class wise. The male student and female student receiving maximum bands are crowned Mr Friendship and Ms Friendship respectively.
RIVAAYAT – An Intra Campus Traditional Dance Competition was organized by Cultural Club, Christ College, Rajkot, during the pandemic situation. It was a solo competition with an aim to provide a creative stage for the students when they were under lockdown phase. Students responded with much dynamism and uploaded their dancing videos.
A Campus Level Christmas Competition 2020 was organized by Cultural Club, Christ College, Rajkot. This was a competition about spreading the happiness of sharing and bringing smiles to others – the poor, less privileged, senior citizens, the sick, orphans, the specially-abled in your home or around you during the Christmas season. For the competition, students had to upload a short video on how they were able to bring a smile on the face of the less privileged.
Cultural Club organized Samvaad, A National Level Debate Competition. Students from seven states across India participated in the event. The motive of the debate was to ignite the young minds to familiarize with the after effects of Covid. The main subjects of discussion were Online Learning, Climate Changes, and Economical Issues due to Covid.
Cultural Club celebrates cultural week every year with great excitement, joy and exuberance. The whole college participates in this week long celebration. The week is much awaited by the students as well as the faculty members. Different days are celebrated with specific theme and idea. The days and its celebrations are as follows:
Navaratri celebration is another major event conducted annually by the cultural club. Cultural Club, Christ Campus celebrated Raasotsav 2K22 – an evening of non-stop music and garba on October 1, 2022, at Aajkaal Garba in the Virani School Ground for all the students of three institutes – Christ College, Christ Polytechnic Institute and Christ Institute of Management. The Aajkal garba is one of the best garba grounds in the Rajkot city with vertex sound system and a professional music team from Mumbai.
Cultural Club, Christ College joined the Tiranga Rally on August 12, 2022, with lot of interest and a strong feeling of patriotism. The rally was initiated by our Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel. The club contributed to the rally in two ways; Firstly by the core committee members taking part in the walking rally and by performing on the stage during the rally. Secondly, at the college, the cultural club was instrumental in distributing the Indian National Flag and conducted an essay writing competition.
The birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated across the globe on 25th December. Christ College has been celebrating this day with great joy and happiness since its inception. In this academic year, after the Covid pandemic, the Cultural Club organized its evergreen celebration of Christmas full of exuberance on 22nd December, 2022, which was powered by Back Benchers Cafe and the gifts were sponsored by Lenses, The Great Indian Pizza and Mona Optic. A distinct Christmas carols performance was performed by the students trained by Dr. Sr. Alphonsa. A special Rampwalk was organised for the students who were exquisitely well dressed and were awarded with the tags of Best Dressed Male and Best Dressed Female
