A bike rally organised by NCC Cadets

To inculcate the ethos of patriotism amongst the young generation and to create awareness about contribution of Indian armed forces in Kargil war, NCC unit of our institution is having a tradition to organize bike rally. To commemorate the sacrifice of Kargil war martyrs and to hail the heroes of Kargil war this is a special initiative by Christ College, Rajkot.

It is the bike rally which starts from the campus, covers entire city, reports at the 2 Gujarat Battalion, Rajkot and then returns after covering the main areas in Rajkot city.

Cadets travel around the city on their bike with Slogans "Kargil Jawan Amar Raho", "Vande Mataram", "Inkalab Jindabad" etc.

Rally began from Christ Campus at 10:00 am. Fr. Benny Joseph, campus director flagged off the rally in the presence of Dr Yvonne Fernandes, Principal, Christ College, Ms. Nymphea Gogia, Principal, Christ Polytechnic Institute and faculty members of Christ Campus. The students of first year from different faculties and students from CPI were lined up on the path of rally to be witness of the rally in a special way. 

The rally reported to Saurashtra University, Rajkot where university officials appreciated the cadets and waved the green flag to proceed. The bike rally passed through the various part of city, reported to 2 Gujarat Battalion NCC, Rajkot. 2 Guj Bn NCC organise refreshment for the cadets. A motivational speech was given by Col Manu Solanki, CO, 2 Guj Bn NCC, Rajkot to the cadets and appreciated the effort of cadets in creating awareness about Kargil war. Rally was permitted to proceed by waving flag by Col Rohit Sondhe, AO, 2 Guj Bn NCC, Rajkot. The bike rally passed from Indira circle, Mahila college underbridge, race course, galaxy talkies, trikon baug, DH campus, big bazar, KKV hall, Rani tower, bishop house and returned to Christ Campus, Rajkot.

This rally collected a fund of Rs. 13210 and it will be deposited in account of sainik welfare fund, Rajkot.    

It was a humble attempt of NCC cadets for creating awareness of the Kargil war in the society.
