WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION-2018

World Nature Conservation Day was celebrated on 28th July, 2018 by Nature club and Department of Biology, Christ College Rajkot. A healthy environment is the foundation for a stable and productive society. The day was celebrated to spread this awareness to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage our natural resources and to ensure the well-being of present and future generations. On this occasion an expert lecture was arranged on “Zoo management and Practices-an ex-situ conservation techniques at Rajkot Zoological Park” by Mr. Ravi Chauhan, Biologist Rajkot Zoological Park. Nearly 250 students were sensitized from various streams which include science, commerce and arts as well. Mr. Chauhan had elaborated the importance of this day as well as significance of nature conservation. At the same time he had also explained how zoos are not only the places of recreational activities but also the centres of research, captive breeding and nature education which serves best example of ex-situ conservation.
