On the onset of new academic year 2017-18 a three hour workshop on “Creativity and innovations in teaching-learning; Counselling and motivational techniques for more effective teaching-learning” was conducted on 5th June 2017. Mr. Arun Agnihotri an educationalist and a trainer in TIE gave his views on current status of teaching, the development of student’s perspective towards education, current teaching methodologies, mental and learning abilities of UG students due to school education patterns and next generation teaching- learning pedagogy and challenges.

He pointed out first the pre-mind status of teachers for being judgemental for students on the basis of gestures and outlook; very nicely he explained that with a quote – Never judge a book by its cover. He emphasised on the attitude of power game status of teachers towards students which distracts them from learning. He correctly said that we cannot teach like we have been taught. Teaching requires novenas now a day with current status and applicative aspect.

Education has become merely a tool for bread, it should train the spiritual, ascetical and moral values to make citizen more civilised. To explained his vies and theories he engaged the whole audience with various activities and provided the practical knowledge.
