OBJECTIVE: To build and enhance leadership quality among the Rotaract Club Members.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a leadership program coordinated by Rotary Clubs around the globe. Each year, thousands of young people participate in this program. Young people ages 13–30 are sponsored by Rotary Clubs to attend the event run by the club's district committee. Rotaract Club, Christ College, Rajkot in association with Rotary club of Rajkot Midtown organized and conducted the RYLA workshop on 12th February, 2017 at Christ College, Rajkot.

The program began at 9:30 am with the formal inaugural function where Dr. Yvonne Fernandes, the Principal of Christ College along with President of Rotary club of Rajkot Midtown and few other Rotarians initiated the event with lamp lighting. This was followed by a brief introduction about RYLA was given by Ms. Devangi, Vice-president Rotary club of Rajkot Midtown followed by a short speech by Dr. Banuben Dhakan, President of the Rotary Midtown. Dr. Yvonne Fernandes, Principal, Christ College, welcomed the guests and participants in her welcoming speech and finally the resource person of the day, Mr. Hemang Desai, was introduced by the anchor Mr. Jignesh Kamdar.

The chief speaker or resource person for the workshop was Mr. Hemang Desai, HR Advisor and Success Coach. He focused his presentation on “Managing the Self and Interpersonal Relationships for Greater Effectiveness”. Alongwith the presentation, he conducted two personality test on measuring the emotional balance and deciding the personality type. The morning session had two lectures both by Mr. Hemang Desai while in the afternoon, out of two, one session was taken by Mr. Ketan, a very well-known Physician of the Rajkot city. He took a lecture on leadership and success with some stimulating examples which catered a strong response from the students. The concluding session was again conducted by Mr. Hemang Desai where he showed the participants a few motivational videos on leadership and success.

50 participants took part in the workshop, where 20 students from Christ college, Rajkot, 20 students from Kadvibai School and 10 from Physiotherapy institute. The arrangement for Food was made by Rotary club of Rajkot Midtown while other infrastructural arrangements were provided from the host (Christ) college.

The event concluded at 5:00 pm with certificate distribution and a vote of thanks by Dr. Hitesh Modi, Active Rotarian, Rotary club of Rajkot Midtown.
