Advertence Hunt 2016-17

Commerce Association and Trendsetters’ Club jointly organized “Advertence Hunt – An eco-friendly treasure hunt” for knowledge enhancement of students of B.Com., B.B.A., MAM, and MBA. The event was planned with multiple objectives to be achieved. One of the agendas was to make students aware about functioning the Government offices and their locations within 2 kms radius of Race Course Ring road area. To add innovation and awareness, the entire event was planned on bicycles which were provided by Rajkot Municipal Corporation under its Cycle Sharing Project.

As per the decisions taken by the organizing committee, students were to register themselves in the team consisting 3 members of the same department. It was decided that out of 3 members, one would act as volunteer and two will be cyclists. Cyclists team was given first clue which was Starting point, they had to solve it and to reach at particular destination from where they would receive next clue and so on. This way they had to cover up 10 (ten) destinations and then finally it would end at the Community Science Center and valedictory function was held at the auditorium of Science Center.

To begin the event, first the faculty members and volunteers were flagged-off by guest of honor of the event, Dr. Darshitaben Shah, Dy. Mayor of Rajkot at sharp 7.30 am. Dr. Darshita briefed students about Swatchta Abhyan of Govt. and she also encouraged students to lead in the campaign. The Chief Guest Hon Mayor of Rajkot city, Dr. Jaiman shared his views on such type of events and appreciated it specifying that usually such events take place on bikes or cars but college has taken innovative initiative to organize on bicycles in collaboration with Rajkot Municipal Corporation.

The event ended at around 10.30 a.m. at Community Science Center’ Auditorium where prize distribution also took place. In the beginning, Mr. Abhijitsinh Vala felicitated students organizing committee consisting of five members, two from B.Com. i.e. Jibi Mathew and Debrati Roy, two from B.B.A. i.e. Megha Nair and Drashti Garach and one from CIM i.e. Rini John.
