Leadership Training Camp 2017-18

A leadership training workshop was organised by Christ College in association with M.R. Pai Foundation and Forum for Free Enterprise , Mumbai on 19th and 20th July 2017 in the conference hall of Christ Institute of Management. The 2 day camp was attended by 75 students from the various faculties of the college, selected office bearers of clubs and associations of the college and students from Christ institute of Management. The esteemed trainers from Mumbai were Mr. Vivek Patki and Mr. Sachin Kamath and the camp was coordinated by Dr. Swati Doshi.

Mr. Vivek Dattatray Patki, a B.Tech.in Chemical Engineering, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management, a Hindi scholar has worked for 11 years as an executive in the private sector and later launched his own institute to impart training in Public Speaking, Communication and various other Professional Skills for the benefit of professionals, businessmen, students, housewives, social workers and others in Hindi, Marathi and English. He imparts training in Human Relations, Creativity, Team Building and allied areas. He has served as former Vice-President of Mumbai Grahak Panchayat, the well-known consumer organization.

Mr. Sachin Kamath, a certified NLP practioner and trainer, certified Experiential learning trainer, Professional behaviour Analyst has been a service industry professional with over 22 years of work experience. He has been the Founder of Incubator of Excellence (INN3) and has served as Director of few companies but since 14 years is a part of the training fraternity and associated with Forum of Free Enterprise. He has facilitated Individual Training, Personal Coaching, Group Coaching, Instructional Programs, Behavioural Skills, Key Account Management and Selling Skills and Entrepreneurship. His key training experience covers an array of sectors like Banking, Education, Telcom, Real Estate, I T, Pharma, Engineering and SME.

The two trainers conducted various sessions on leadership and skill development. Various topics covered under this theme were goal setting, self esteem, communication skills, time management, team work and self management. The participants were divided into two groups and were alternatively attending sessions of Mr. Patki and Mr. Kamath.

Various activities, games, videos , inspirational talks were used during the sessions.Emphasis was on experential learning. The students could easily connect and interact with the speakers. They received guidance on dealing with problems on road to becoming successful leaders as well as changes that were needed in their everyday life like setting goals, positive self talk, time management, work life balance, reading varied materials. They were also given tips on enriching reading, writing and listening skills.They were given training on improving body language and confidence. Various activites helped the students understand and practice the skills effectively.
